1959 - MANSFIELD RACEWAY
Mansfield Speedway opened in 1959 as a 3/8 mile dirt oval track, originally built by locals for locals. Initially they had no facilities such as bleachers. But as time marched on and the tracks popularity increased some spectator comfort items were added.
Stock Cars were the main attraction at Mansfield along with some locally built Modifieds.

1967 - MANSFIELD RACEWAY
In 1967 a 1/4 mile dirt oval was added to the infield of the existing track, for whatever reason it was only used for that one year, then closed.

1970's / 1980's - MANSFIELD RACEWAY
During the 1970's and 1980's the facilities at the track grew, as did the quality of the race cars, We saw the the introduction of Late Model Sedans and Supermodifieds.
During the mid 1980's and for an unspecified reason, management was struggling to stay afloat and had to shut the gates after the 1988 season.

1993 - MANSFIELD RACEWAY
Mansfield did reopen again in 1993. Once again the track was still in the position of, Little reward for big efforts. The track once again closed after the 1996 season.

1999 - MANSFIELD MOTORSPORTS PARK
In 1999 the track under new management went through a major upgrade from a dirt oval to a paved track. This was when the name of the track was changed to Mansfield Motorsports Park. Quality cars and drivers,brought in spectators galore.

2004 - MANSFIELD MOTORSPORTS PARK
By 2004 NASCAR were onboard and the venue hosted its first Truck Series race, Jack Sprague would win that event. NASCAR continued to support the track santioning a meeting each year up until 2008.

2010 - MANSFIELD MOTORSPORTS PARK
Mansfield was yet to close again and lay dormant until 2015, when it reopened again.

2015 - SPITZER MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Open again with a name change and a bright future projected by the new management, but the dream was short lived, with Spitzer closing after just one year.

2017 - MANSFIELD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
In 2017 a whole new management team led by Cody Sommer had moved in, they were attracting some big name Sprintcar and Late Model Sedan drivers with big payouts, this was the year that the pavement was ripped out and the track surface was returned to dirt.

2019 - MANSFIELD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Cody Sommer the President and Promoter of Mansfield Motor Speedway has announced that it is intension to close the Mansfield track at the end of the 2019 racing season.
Sommer sights a combination of work loads from other interests, as well as the constant challenges of the speedways day to day operations.
