1975 - BUGGARS CLUB
Basicly the Buggars Club was an informal offshoot of the Bunbury Car Club who built and ran Bunbury Speedway, This group of family's would all gather at Myalap Beach on off speedway weekends to race beach buggy's along the beach and up through the sand dunes, eat, drink and camp over.
Names such as Colin and Joyce Resta, Graeme and Nolleen Wheat, Brian and Jean Lee, Kenny Summers and his wife, Robbie and Nanette Harding and a few more.
The group decided to install a few comforts such as timber structure for shade made from drift wood collected from along the beach, A water tank was sunk into the dunes with plumbing run to a stand pipe at the hut.
Everthing was going fine until the Ranger got wind of it, He had this wild idea that the group had broken just about every rule in the book.
Driving unlicienced cars on a public reserve, Racing through the sand dunes and harming the vegetation and wildlife, lack of toilets, Drinking in a public area, Building a structure without a permit and so the list went on.
Eventually the group scraped the idea and returned to put all there efforts into the Bunbury Speedway.
