1967 - BILLY GOAT FLATS.
In 1967 a small group of locals gathered in the Gascoyne Hotel with the intension of forming a hot rod club.
It was at this inaugural meeting that Gary Westcott was ellected Chairman and President, so it was the Carnarvon Hot Rod Club was formed.
The next step was to build a race track, Sid Kidd made available the Sourthern portion of his property situated on Boor Street and a track was built.
Racing commenced at the site but it was short lived as dust from the track on race days would create a problem for the nearby housing estate.

1967 - HORSE RACING TRACK.
With the closing of Billy Goat Flats the club negotiated a deal with the horse racing club to use the inside of the horse racing track opposite the grandstand, this did not work out as permission was rejected to upgrade the wooden track rails with steel, this location was only used for a short time.
