1914 - MOUNT GRAVATT RESERVE
When the Mount Gravatt Reserve was opened in 1914 many cars tried to negotiate the steep rugged twisty track to the top but failed, The first car recorded to reach the peak was a Buick driven by Albert Harrington - A motor car and cycle sales manager, The hill would be used for competitive hill climbing from 1924 until at least the 1940's.

1924 - MOUNT GRAVATT HILL CLIMB
-------------------------------------------------------------------------1924 - Royal Automobile ClubOn the 25th of October 1924, The Royal Automobile Club conducted their first hill climb event at this location, At least 29 drivers nominated with 14 different makes of cars entered.
The course rose 360 feet over the half mile climb.
