1924 - READING FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY.
Reading Fairgrounds Speedway opened on the 24th of September 1924 as a 1/2 mile dirt/clay oval speedway track, right in the township of Muhlenburg, Berks County Pennsylvania.
Over its life, Stock Cars, Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds and Late Model Sedans have all featured at the fairgrounds.
The Fairgrounds stopped holding Speedway events in 1979, with the last event being on the 29th of June. The Fairgrounds were demolished to make way for the Fairgrounds Square Mall.
