1925 - WARRAGUL SHOWGROUNDS SPEEDWAY.
Motor Racing events for Motorcycles were held at the Warragul Showgrounds each year often over the Easter long weekend.
The race track was not in ideal condition, so accidents did happen. Over the years there were two fatalities and on one occasion two spectators were injured when a bike left the track. The racing was brought to a halt soon after World War 2, Horse trotting races where also held at the showgrounds and they did continue after the motor racing stopped.

Dave Barry recalls: I did race at Warragul along with other tracks in the region, Tracy's, Emarald and Brooklyn, Yes iam fairly sure that a death at the race track caused the speedway to be closed, that being in 1964.
