1959 - DAILY NEWS NEWSPAPER REPORTED
Jan Barac recalls: My dad Mick Geneve / Geneff was born to Bulgarian parents on the 2nd of April 1918 (100 years ago today) His colourful events in life included - Ran away from home to join the Bullins Circus, Flying a Tiger Moth aeroplane where he would swoop over his parents land in Osbourne Park, At Claremont Speedway during the 1940's and 1950's he rode solo bikes and raced Stock Cars.
One year he rode in the globe of death at the Perth Royal Show, During the 1950's he also raced at the Caversham Raceway where he met his death in his Corvette racecar on the 2nd of June 1959 at only forty one years of age.
Mick left behind his wife Rene (passed in 2012) and five children, His family continued to run the Mobil Service Station in Osbourne Park (where Harvey Norman is now) for many years, His son Ray (the Osbourne Park Charger) continued in his father's footsteps with a highly decorated racing career, Then dads grandson " The Magic Man" Michael Figliomeni also such a champion to be proud of, Sadly missed always.
