1937 - MORRINSVILLE SPEEDWAY.
Morrinsville Speedway opened its gates in 1937 with a motorcycle program, the fans loved it. Then came the Midgets. Drivers were appearing from the USA and Australia.
World War 2 affected the speedway of course as it did to all the other tracks world wide. After the war the speedway never really recovered the spectator numbers fell away and so did the race meetings. It was all over by 1949, the speedway closed.
