1966 - MARTIN COUNTY FAIR
After the closure of the original fairgrounds at 308 S State Street in 1964, work commenced on the new venue in 1965, Part of the new plans included a 1/2 mile high banked dirt oval speedway that was to be known as Fairmont Raceway, The construction was completed for the 1966 racing season.
