Carlson Park in Culver City originally opened as a horse racing track in 1923, but only ran for one year.

1924 - LOS ANGELES SPEEDWAY
The site did re-open again on the 14th of December 1924, this time as Board Racing track, The track was often refeared to as just the speedway or as is was promoted through the press as the Los Angeles Speedway.
