1971 - ALEXANDRA SPEEDWAY
The Alenandra and District Speedway Club formed in October of 1969, with the assistance of the local Rotary Club. Don Stillman was inaugural President, The Alexandra Club was one of the first "new" clubs to form in the North East of Victoria and in January 1971 launched the track known as Alexandra District Speedway, the track was a kidney shaped circuit popular with both drivers and spectators, because of its closeness to other speedways drivers would often visit from Euroa and Seymour.
The Alexandra Club drew a large membership from Melbourne as it was just a short drive from the Eastern suburbs of the city, in August of 1974 all hell broke loose, the club pulled out of the N E H R A during the "rule book wars" and stopped short of dumping the VSC and the ASCF, this would of meant that there drivers would not be able to race anywere else in the state, by 1975 a series of meetings, nogotiations and compromises had worked and the club was back in the fold but with the satisfaction of a political debate well won.
Alexandra converted to a convential speedway in the early eighty's, later adding a concrete safety fence and lighting for night racing.
Many divisions race at the venue including Sprintcars, Super Sedans, Juniors, Standard Saloons, Ladies and the Crash'n'Bash sedans.

Alexandra Speedway is located to the East of Alexandra the race track surface is a mixture of granite and sand with a full concrete track fence, the track length measures 570 metres on the pole line.
