1994 - WAKEFIELD PARK RACEWAY
The Motor Racing Circuit is 2.2km in length and is located near Golburn NSW, The track was named after Charles Cheers Wakefield, the founder of Castrol Oils.
Work comenced of building the track in October of 1993 after many set backs with neigbours and the EPA, by the 8th of May 1994 Wakefield Park held its first meeting.
Over the years the Benalla Auto Club has hosted many high profile events at the circuit including rounds of the Fujitsu V8 Super Car Series, Australian Super Bike Series, Australian Motor Racing Series and Drifting competitions.
The year is 2012 and the venue is a hive of activity running car and bike speed off the street days, as well as its club and state level racing.
Wakefield Park also has a hill climb facility and shorter variations of its circuit.
