1974 - KAIKOHE SPEEDWAY
Kaikohe Speedway racing started racing in the district in 1974, on a grass track approximately 300 metres along the Ngawha Springs road (7km from Kaikohe)
The Kaikohe Car Club moved to its present location along side State Highway 12 in 1975. The Kaikohe Car Club became an incorporated body on the 7th of December 1976.
