1967 - SOUTHERN OHIO SPEEDWAY
Southern Ohio Speedway opened its gates on the 9th of June 1967 with a super modified feature, Wayne McGuire won that first event, he also went on to take out that seasons championship.
The track was a 4/10 mile dirt oval speedway.
Southern Ohio was always popular with drivers, Delmas Conley, Charlie Swartz, Jack Boggs and Steve Francis all got there starts here at Southern Ohio.
The Southern 500 Late Model race held each year at the venue was the second biggest Late Model event held in the county, Topped only by the World 100 at Eldora.

2000 - SOUTHERN OHIO SPEEDWAY
The track closed in 2000 and remained closed until re-opening in 2003 for a full season. By 2004 only a few race meetings were held, this continued until 2006 when the venue once again closed.

2011 - SOUTHERN OHIO SPEEDWAY
In 2011 the track was re-opened and ran a successful full season.
