Originally built as a dirt oval, it became very successful straight away with good car counts of Late Models and Stock Cars.
After only five years, the track was sold of and the new owners decided to pave the 4/10 mile track, They beleived it would attract more outside drivers, This it did, but the fans wanted to see there local favorites and it didn't draw the crowds they wanted.
This was the track that gave Denny Hamlin his start but as the fan numbers dropped , the track was forced to close in 2004.
