1935 - CAMDEN MOTORDROME SPEEDWAYCamden Motordrome was built around the outside of Camden Oval on Anzac Highway and was opened on the 28th of December 1935.
Racing consisted of Midgets along with Solo and Sidecar racing.
In 1937 it was anounced that new director were in place and major improvements were on the way including electric starting gates, those directors being Messrs J Chapman, S and A O'Donnell, SR Pitman and WH Emche.
In 1940 the speedway was officially closed down after the final meeting on the 6th of April 1940, but several winter meetings were held during 1941, The final closure would see the speedway not open again as many competitors were enlisting for World War 2 and petrol rationing meant very little for motor racing.

At times we find in speedway that history has either been lost or thrown away because an organisation has folded, not recorded because the competitors simply lived for the moment, or some history researcher's never release to the world there work.
