1948 - JACKSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Jackson Motor Speedway opened in 1948 as a 1/2 mile high banked dirt track, built by the Stull family.
Racing did not reach a full schedule until 1950, From that point on spectators and competitors alike would front up for some fantastic Stock Car Racing.
By 1953 a 1/4 mile dirt oval was built inside the 1/2 mile track, this did not last very long before the owners did away with both tracks and layed down a 1/3 mile replacement dirt oval speedway.
In 1958 the Stull family sold the track to new owners who paved the surface, This proved to be a fatal decision on behalf of the new owners, Many drivers did not enjoy racing on the pavement so the competitor numbers fell away and so did the fans, The track closed in 1974.
