1968 - APPALACHIAN SPEEDWAY.
Appalachian Speedway opened in 1969 as a 1/2 mile, high banked dirt oval speedway that hosted a program of Late Model and Sportsman events. The track did run under light's and was well known for the speeds that the cars obtained.
The venue all-though well run and popular was closed down in 1976 as the land had become too valuable for the owners to not sell of to Industry developers.
