1970 - SURFERS PARADISE SPEEDWAY.
The Surfers Paradise Speedway opened in 1970 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval speedway, The track was built within the infield of the International road racing circuit and Dragstrip.
The entire motorsport park was sold off after 1984 and the speedway was renamed, Surfside Speedway, The program remained the same but also saw the introduction of some bike events.
By 1987 the entire Motorsport Park had closed and the location would soon become a top end housing development.
