1958 - ALASKA SPEEDWAY
Alaska Speedway opened in 1958 as a 1/4 mile paved oval with Stock Car and Late Model racing on the program.
Alaska Speedway was very popular, running weekly and was also the first paved track in the state.
As the years went by the developers were moving in, The land had become too valuable to continue as a speedway, The track was forced to close in 1966 and the venue was demolished.
