1998 - RIO GRANDE SPEEDWAY.
Rio Grande Speedway opened in 1998 as a 3/8 mile dirt oval speedway, hosting IMCA Modified's, Late Model's and Stock Car's.
The owner had big plans for the desert venue, with the addition of a 1 mile paved circuit as well as a drag strip to be added in the future. Sadly this never made it past the planing stage, due to lack of money. The track's life was short, closing in 2001.
