1968 - TRY COUNTY SPEEDWAY
Tri County Speedway opened in 1968 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval speedway track. Right from the point of opening the speedway was very successful. Sanctioning by USAC, would attract many of the big names such as, Garry Bettenhausen and AJ Foyt. Sprintcars and Stock Cars were the main attraction.

1972 - TRI COUNTY SPEEDWAY
In 1972 the track was paved as the owners were changing direction by promoting more Stock Car racing.

1977 - QUEEN CITY SPEEDWAY
In 1977 the then owners on sold the lease and the inforstructure to new owner, The owner carried on business as usual but renamed the track to Queen City Speedway. Initially the popularity of the speedway grew. During the 1980's Queen City Speedway would play host to many of the NASCAR stars of the future, Such as Alan Kulwicki, Kenny Wallace and Mark Martin just to mention a few.

1988 - QUEEN CITY SPEEDWAY
By 1988 it was all over the owner had walked away, sighting fewer spectator numbers, higher running costs and the lease was soon to expire.
