1948 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAYThese Claremont Speedway autograph books that were printed and despatched in 1947. The became very popular with the speedway fans of the day. This booklet in particular first went to the Claremont Showground in 1948 were the ownner gathered up many autographs. including Jack Sharpe, Tich Madden, Mick Geneve,Norm Kestral, Wally Higgs. The pre signed photo card within the book were handed out by the drivers and riders, can you imagine the enjoyment the fans would have experienced.

1948 > 1973 - CHUM TAYLOR Solo'sChum Taylor as we all know him also has a family name Edwin Vernon Taylor, Chum went on to be one of Australia's greatest speedway riders of the early years, he started riding at Claremont Speedway in 1948 on a Rudge machine.
In 1960 Chum travelled to England's Wembley Stadium to represent Australia in the world finals.
Chum went on to win the Australian solo championship at Rowley Park South Australia in the 1965 - 1966 season.
Chum at the age of 46 retired in 1973.
