1947 - MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY.
Martinsville Speedway opened way back in 1947 as a 1/2 mile sealed paperclip oval speedway. The venue was built by three partners in, H Clay Earles, Henrey Lawrence and Sam Rice. The track is the only one left that has been on the NASCAR circuit from the beginning in 1948.
