The Albany Speedway Club hosted the 1979 1980 West Australian Standard Saloon Car Championship at there Attwell Park venue.
The winner of the title was Graham Brown from the Bunbury Car Club in a Mini, second was Richard Nelson from the Augusta Margaret River club and third went to Bunbury driver Max Dunston.
