1970 - BRIAN HODDER'S AMBITION
Brian Hodder was a local canefarmer that had a ambition and desire to promote speedway in the Burdekin, along the way Brian suffered many disappointments in trying to find a suitable site.
In 1970 Brian found his dream site and work started on building the venue, this would be a long drawn out exercise as this was not going to be just a race track but a super speedway to rival any track in Australia.

West Coast Speedway News feature
In 2013 Allan Baker from West Coast Speedway News embarked on a road trip from the west coast of Australia to the east coast and up to Queensland and returned some 4 months later, on the way he visited and documented as many tracks as he could, one of these tracks was Pioneer Park Speedway, at the time Allan was unable to gain access to the venue within his time allowance, so he had to photograph from outside the perimeter fence.
