1938 - WIRLINGA ROAD RACE CIRCUIT
As a part of the Albury 150th anniversary celebrations, on the 19th March 1938. The Victorian Sporting Car Club marked out a four point two mile road racing circuit around the streets of Wirlinga, The main event was 116 miles in length. the main race was won by J Phillips in a Ford V8, G Bonser in a Terraplane and L Burrows also in a Terraplane. In the prelim handicap a 5 lap or 16 mile race. J Boughton finished 2nd in his Morgan while A Beasley finished 4th in his Singer. The meeting was hailed as a huge success.

Due to the popularity of the 1938 event another race was staged in June of 1939.

1940 - WIRLINGA ROAD RACE CIRCUIT
1940 would see the end of car racing around Wirlinga's streets, World War two ended most motor sport events all over the world.
