1967 - HORSHAM MOTOR SPORT CLUB
The Horsham Motor Sport Club was founded in 1967 by a group of members from the Wimmera Light Car Club.
These members wanted to venture into full on speedway racing, a sport that was growing by the day through out the many towns around Horsham.
The Inaugural President of the Horsham club was Robert F Tucker, under his leadership the club without a track started there inter club racing at tracks such as Warnambool, Portland, Hamilton, Mortlake, Stawell, Simpson and Nhill.

1970's THE QUEST FOR A HOME TRACK
Many attempts were made through the 1970's and the early 1980's by the Horsham club to secure there own race track but all attempts failed.

1984 - CLUBS ALMALGAMATE
In 1984 the Horsham Motor Sport Club amalgamated with the Nhill Motor Sport Club thus forming the Wimmera Motor Sport Club, with the amalgamation came major upgrades to the exsisting Intercapitol Speedway located six kilometres North-East of the Nhill township.
This partnership would until 1991, when the Horsham Motor Sport Club was re-formed and fundraising commenced so the club could build there own venue,
1993 - BLUE RIBBON RACEWAY
During nogotiations with the Wimmera Shire and the Horsham City Council three sites were considered for the new speedway, Firstly the old dirt track site at Dooen, also an area of land at Burnt Creek and last the site that was chosen, a section of farming land that was owned by Laurie Smith of Kalkee, approval was granted in 1993 and the fund raising continued.
In 1995 the first earth-works began at the Blue Ribbon Raceway site under the leadership of club president Robert D Tucker of Horsham, The track was completed by Febuary of 1996 in time for a practice meeting, followed by the first race meeting in March of 1996, The Raceways official opening was on the 23rd of November 1996.
