In 1938 a farmer by the name of John Hoenig decided to build a motor raceing complex on his farming property.
1940 - THOMPSON SPEEDWAY.
This complex that consisted of a 1.7 mile Paved Road course and incorperated a 5/8 mile paved oval speedway opened on the 26th of May 1940.
