1978 - YELLOW RIVER SPEEDWAY
The land that Yellow River Speedway was built on was originally phurchased in 1972, the building of the track was the project of James Langreck from Marshfield and took five years to build.
The Speedway opened in late 1978 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval track, 12 months earlier the nearby Neillsville Speedway had closed so there was a need for the new speedway.
MARSHFIELD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
At some point in the tracks life, while it was still dirt the name of the venue was changed to Marshfield Motor Speedway
The speedway went through a major transformation from dirt to a 1/2 mile paved surface at the completion of the 1995 season.
