1954 - ASHWAY SPEEDWAY
Ashway Speedway opened in 1954 as a dirt oval speedway track running mainly Modified Stocks, The track was quite narrow initially but did get widened early on in it life. During the 1970's many competitors would race at the paved Knoxville track on the Friday night and then continue on to Ashway for the Saturday event.
By 1980 the car racing was over and the track was shortened up to make a fantastin Go Kart track.
