1955 - FONTANA DRAG CITY
Fontana Drag City opened in 1955 as a 1/4 mile sealed two lane Drag Strip, hosting Car and Motorcycle racing. The venue would go through a name change at a point when the famed racer, Mickey Thompson would take over the running of the strip. At this point in time we are unsure of the date, the change over was made. The venue was now known as Mickey Thompson's International Dragway.

1972 - MICKEY THOMPSON INTERNATIONAL DRAGWAY.
By 1972 the strip had closed due to safety concerns, several serious accidents and deaths had draw attension to the popular venue. The end verdict was, the strip was too short and narrow for the speeds the racers where laying down.
