1951 - MOUNT CLEMENS RACE TRACK
Mount Clemens Race Track was originally used as a 1/2 mile horse racing track, with a large lagoon inside of the track. That was until the management team at the nearby Motor City Speedway moved in and redeveloped the venue. The 1/2 mile oval was banked and part of the lagoon with filled so a 1/4 mile dirt oval could be built as well.
Estimated crowds of between 2,000 to 5,000 would turn up to watch the racing that was held on two nights per week. Stock Cars, Sportsman's and Mini Modifieds would feature on the program.

1972 - MOUNT CLEMENS RACE TRACK
After the 1972 racing season ended the venue went through a major upgrade when both tracks were sealed. Racing continued at the speedway through the 1970's and 1980's. But in the end falling attendance numbers and the lack of sponsorship dollars would see the Mount Clemens facility close in 1985, to make way for an industrial area.
