1948 - THE SS STRATHEDENThe SS Stratheden was a P&O steamship that was built in 1937, that carried passengers from Britain and return to South Africa, India and Australia.
Many speedway riders and officials travelled on the Stratheden, to England to compete each year, also returning on the steamer.
The ship was taken out of service and decommissioned in 1969.

1948 - THE SS STRATHAIRDThe SS Strathaird was a P&O Steamship that carried passengers and the mail from Britain, The ship was built in 1931 and made it maiden voyage from England in 1932.
Many Australian speedway riders and officials travelled to and from England on this steamer during there racing years.
The Strathaird was the first of the P&O Strath class liners to be scrapped, at the Shun Fung Iron Works in Hong Kong.
