Bob Flock would win the pole for the 200 lap race in his Hudson and lead the first five laps before the engine gave out. This would place Bill Blair in the lead in his Lincoln.
Blair led the race for the next one hundred and forty five laps until Jim Roper in his Lincoln would take the lead on lap one fifty one.
By the two hundred lap mark and the race end Glenn Dunaway had moved into the lead and won. But the officials who had noticed the remarkable handling of the winning Ford on the rough track decided to inspect the car. It was found that the suspension in the car was illegal. Dunaway was relegated to last place and the win was awarded to Roper. In second place was Fonty Flock in a Hudson third was Red Byron in an Oldsmobile. fourth went to Sam Rice in a Oldsmobile while fifth place was Tim Flock also in an Oldsmobile.
