The Great Southern flying 50 was originally held in Pingelly until the second world war, after the war the event recomenced in Narrogin
Narrogin held two Flying 50 events prior to to running of the Australian Grand Prix, the first in 1948 and the second in 1949.
1948 - NARROGIN GREAT SOUTHERN FLYING 50
The 1948 Flying 50 was held around the streets of Narrogin for the first time on the 8th of November 1948. This circuit at 2.2 miles was a shorter version of the 4.375 mile 1951 Australian Grand Prix layout.
