1969 - ALLAN NYLANDER Supermodified's
In 1969 a young 23 year old Hot Shot Supermodified racer and car constructor from Perth, Western Australia traveled to the East coast of Australia to take on the best that Liverpool Speedway in Sydney had to offer.
Nylander came with big reputation from the big wide open Claremont Speedway, with its flat out racing, but he was glossed over by most.
Starting out of 13th in the Supermodified feature Nylander was on a charge making his way forward, They were all there, Bill Warner, Sid Hopping, Dick Britton, David Lander, Bob Tunks, Jeff Pickering,Don Fortune, Jim Winterbottom, not too many missing off the list, What an incredable win. for this proud young West Aussie.
