1929 - CAVES BEACH
Caves Beach which is about 30km south of Newcastle, was a popular venue for local motorcycle clubs, to hold events both competitive and social between 1929 and to at least 1951. It was also occasionally used by car clubs. The peak use of the location was 1938 and 1939. It appears that social events such as cricket may have been held on the beach but a miniature tt track was established nearby and motor events were mainly held there.
