1939 - IRON BOWL SPEEDWAY.
Opened in 1939 as a 3/8 mile round oval dirt track in a ravine known as Boggs Hollow, The track was owned and run by JP Rotton Junior and Shine Franklin, The program of midget racing lasted until 1942 when the track closed because of World War two.
In 1946 the track did reopen again under the control of the Birmingham Racing Club who ran Stock Cars, at this point the track was transformed into a more traditional oval, the track closed for the final time in 1961.
