Alan Streader recalls: Winsor was a two track venue, a massive one third mile track for the larger cars and a smaller cut away track for bikes and TQ's, The bigger track was over towards the railway line, A corner marshall by the name of Ron Palfrey would when ever there was an accident run out onto the track waving his red flag, back in those days cars had no brakes or a poor excuse for such things, I suggested to Ron that he should only come to the pole line and wave his flag, Ron insisted that he knew what he was doing and deemed my advice unnecessary, later the same day Ron was hit by a three ton stock car and enjoyed a ride to the hospital in an ambulance, the verdict, two broken legs.
