1996 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY. WEST AUSTRALIAN SOLO & SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP. 19th January 1996.Claremont Speedway hosted the running of the 1995 - 1996 West Australian Solo and Sidecar Championship on the 19th of January 1996.
Duel Aussie champion Glenn Doyle lined up in an attempt to win his seventh West Australian title, John Watkins and Trevor Harding combined to rush Greg Bartlett from the east to race in the event, Greg had to leave straight after the final as he had compete the following night in the International Speedway Masters in the east.
Other riders such as Frank Smart, Lee Redmond, Steve Johnson, Tod Johnson, Nigel Flatman and Chris Lee turned out for the event.

Sidecar stars Glenn and Nathan O'Brien went in as outright favorites and did not disappoint, There biggest competition came from the combinations of Darren Nash and Peter Teale, Russell Mitchell and Kirk Knapman, Ed Blakeney and Paul James, defending Champ Mark Drew and Alan Griffiths and even John Lowe and Craig Maumill.
