1938 - MOUNT PANORAMA AUSTRALIAN 150th CELEBRATIONS TT 16th April 1938Mount Panorama Street Circuit opened to the paying public on the 16th of April 1938 with the running of the Australian TT for motorcycles, followed two days later by the Australian Grand Prix for cars, the original gravel road circuit of 3.861 miles or 6.213 km was entirely run on public roads just outside the town of Bathurst.
By the running of the second meeting on the eighth and nineth of April 1939 the gravel surface had been bitumised.

1939 - MOUNT PANORAMA NEW SOUTH WALES GRAND PRIX 10th April 1939Mount Panorama hosted the New South Wales Grand Prix over the Easter long weekend on the Monday.
A note-able at the meeting was the re-naming of the main straight to Conrod Straight after Frank Kleinig's Hudson threw a rod out of the engine on the main straight.
