The race track is under a cloud at the moment, and there are three parties with a stake in the speedway's future, firstly there is the City who are responcible for the upkeep on the speedway and the safety of all of those using or just being on site, Simply they are not prepared to spend a million dollars on the venue so they would prefer to demolish it, Secondly the Enviromentalists want the site cleared and returned to its natural habitat, Then there is the families that race at the venue in there quarter midgets, they want the track to stay and their non for profit association be allowed to raise the funds to carry out the maintainance required on this, the oldest speedway known in Arizona and the last remaining in Phoenix.
