SANTA MARIA SPEEDWAY

1964 - SANTA MARIA RACEWAY.

Santa Maria Raceway opened on the 30th May 1964 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval speedway with Stock Cars featuring initially, and with some NASCAR santioned events being held in the 1970's.

By the 1980's Sprintcar racing was the go with World of Outlaw events held at the venue for the next twenty years, Later on during the tracks life Wingless Sprintcar began to feature, with many of these meeting being sanctioned by USAC.

In 2021 it was decided to close the speedway, ever increasing costs and noise complaints from the nearby residents has been sited as the reason's why. The track closed in November of 2022, only to reopen again in May of 2024 under the direction of the venues previous general manager.
