1948 - FISHERMENS BEND CIRCUIT.
The Runways of the disused Fishermens Bend aerodrome were used for Car and possible motorcycle racing events starting in 1948 and finishing up in 1960.
When it was deemed that the track surface was no longer suitable for the ever increasing speeds of the cars and motorcycles, Drag racing event organised by the Victorian Hot Rod Association were held from 1962 through to 1966, attracting many AA class Fuelers and Funny Cars with times approaching the ten second mark for the quarter mile strip.
