1937 - DEVILS BOWL SPEEDWAY. [John West Rd]
Devils Bowl Speedway opened in 1937 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval track, focusing on Midget racing. The racing was holted in 1942 because of the world wide ban on motor racing.
1946 - DEVILS BOWL SPEEDWAY. [John West Rd]
When the track reopened in 1946 it had been extended to a 1/3 mile. Modifieds featured during the 1950's and became a fan favorite. In the 1960's it seemed like the average returns that running a speedway offered and the rockerting land values may have been too much for the owner to pass up a very big offer. The speedway closed in 1966.
