1970 - NAMBOUR SALOON CAR CLUB
Prior to Nambour Speedway unofficial speedway racing meeting were being held at a track on Sugar Road in Maroochydore. The racing was under the control of the Nambour Saloon Car Club.

Valmai McIntyre recalls: The Nambour Saloon Car Club formed at a meeting held in the Parklands Hall and in early May 1970 the 1st office bearers were elected. President: Ray Austin. Secretary Treasurer Annette Morgan and Miss W Ballard became the assistant Secretary.

1973 - SUNSHINE COAST SPEEDWAY.Sunshine Coast Speedway opened on the 3rd of June 1973, Once a very popular Speedway, Sunshine Coast Speedway was also known as Yandina Speedway. The speedway was a 400 metre clay oval and held events for motorcycles and cars.
The club hosted some high profile motorcycle events during its years of operation. On the 30th of December an Australian team took on a British team, the poms won 56 to 52.
Then on the 9th of January 1993 our Australian team took on a mixed International team, once again our boy's went down, 46 to 62.
Buy the 17th of June 2000 the motorcycle racing had finished, but the Speedcars continued through until 2006.
When the speedway closed racing was moved to the Nambour Showgrounds Speedway.

2004 / 2005 - NAMBOUR SPEEDWAY.
Speedway racing did come to an end in the region in 2004/2005 when the owner of land that Nambour Speedway sat on, opted to apply for rezoning of the property for housing.

2013 - SUNSHINE COAST SPEEDWAY. Walkabout.
As the photographs depict the Raceway has been redeveloped as a housing estate, whilst it all looks very nice the speedway history is gone, it has a quaint little park at the entry of the estate but there is nothing to draw attension to the fact that this estate is apart of Australian motor sport history.
