1908 - WHITE CITY STADIUM.
White City Stadium was built in White City, London for the 1908 summer Olympic Games, After the games and through the rest of the stadiums life it would play host to many other sports such as Speedway, Swimming, Greyhound racing, and various codes of football.

1926 - GREYHOUND RACING ASSOCIATION.The Greyhound Racing Association took over the venue and in 1927, the athletics track was grassed over for Greyhound and Speedway racing.
White City Stadium was principally used for Greyhound racing for the majority of its existence, The stadium became the mecca of the sport with tens of thousands of spectators attending meetings on a regula basis.

1928 - WHITE CITY SPEEDWAY.White City Stadium held open speedway meetings in 1928 before the start of the Southern League.
1929 - WHITE CITY (LONDON)A team known as White City (London) entered the 1929 Southern League where they finished in 7th place out of 11 teams.
The White City team were due to race in the 1930 Southern League, but withdrew before racing commenced.
The stadium then ran once again using an open licience and held occasional one of meetings between 1953 to 1958 and 1961 until a new league team was formed from the Oxford Rebels in 1976.
1976 WHITE CITY REBELSFrom 1976 until 1978, the stadium was home to the White City Rebels speedway team, The team finished as British League champions for the 1977 season, The Rebels only raced for three seasons with that win in the middle.

From 1979 through to 1983 the stadium raced under an open licience hosting a number of
high profile speedway world championship qualifying rounds, including the overseas intercontinental finals during the 1970s and 1980s, it also hosted the final of the Speedway World Team cup in 1976, 1979 and 1982.
Following the end of speedway at Wembley Stadium after the 1981 World Final, White City became the home of International speedway in Great Britain until it closed in 1984, Following this International Speedway moved out of London to the Odsal Stadium in Bradford.

1977 - WHITE CITY STADIUM. World Speedway Championship INTERCONTINENTAL Final. 21st August 1977.Peter CollinsTops the Seven at White CityThe top seven riders from the Intercontinental Final would qualify for the 1977 World Speedway Championship Final. Those seven riders would be, Peter Collins who won the Intercontinental Final with [15] points. 2nd Ole Olsen [13] points. 3rd Billy Sanders [12] points. 4th Michael Lee [12] points. 5th Ivan Mauger [9] points. 6th John Boulger [9] points and 7th Finn Thomsen on [8] points.
