1984 - WEST VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
West Virginia Motor Speedway opened in 1984, Originally the track was built as a 5/8th mile dirt oval circuit, However around 2012 the track size was decreased in size to a 1/3 mile. Some have claimed that for whatever reason's the venue just did not have the appeal to attract the racers or the fans, nothing seemed to work for then and the venue sat mostly unused from 2013 to 2021.

Zach Yost recalls: The photos in the slideshow above shows what a can be achieved in a single year, The first pic i took on the 1st of August 2020 prior to work being started on the recomitioning of this once great speedway.
The 2nd pic i took on the 7th of August 2021, just after Sprintars had raced there for $20,000 in prize money.
I cant say enough about the hard work Cody and his crew have put in over the past year and its only going to get bigger and better. The LOLMDS go for $50,000 in 2022.

2021 - WEST VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY. WORLD RACE OF CHAMPIONS. 6th August 2021.Since reopened after eight years of closure West Virginia Speedway has hosted some fantastic race meetings, with quality competitors and machinary from all divisions, matching that is the crowd numbers, as they say, if you provide the entertainment they will come.

2021 - WEST VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY. MARK BALZANO MEMORIAL. 6th August 2021.Ohio based racer Devin Moran has swept all before with a runaway win on night one of the West Virginia Motor Speedway, Super Late Models World Race of Champions, The payout for winning the night one feature was $10,000
The race is run in honour of Mark Balzano who has since passed, Devin was joined on the podium by Colton Burdette who ran in second, Ryan Montgomery who ran third.

2021 - WEST VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY. 410 SPRINTCARS. 6th August 2021.Anthony Macri has taken out the World Race of Champion pre-lim feature and walked away with the $5,000 on night one at the West Virginia Motor Speedway.
Standing on the podium with Macri was Tim Shaffer who ran second in the 28 car and Cale Conley in the number 3c car third.

West Virginia Motor Speedway is on the market. This valuable piece of real estate that boasts one of the fastest Dirt Track's in the region, This 66 acre property sitting right next to Interstate 77 has the asking price of 1.2 million dollars. Brian Moyle recalls: As of mid 2024 a buyer for the venue has yet to be found and it has been reported that there are no plans in place to hold any race meeting's at the speedway during 2024.
