1890's - VENTURA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.Eugene Preston FosterSeaside Park or Ventura County Fairgrounds as it is more commonly known, sits on approx 80 acres of prime seaside land in Ventura.
the Fairgrounds came about because of this man pictured on the right. Eugene Preston Foster, who was a quite wealthy bussiness man and a local here in Ventura County, who initially gifted 65 acres of Beach front land to the Ventura County to build a Fairground / Recreation facility, he would also invest a lot of his own cash into the project.

1901 - VENTURA COUNTY MINITURE RAILWAYAround 1901 a gentleman by the name of John J Coil build and operated a miniture railway at the fairgrounds, however sadley nature would end this mans dream when a freakish high tide washed away his dream.
Coil then set about relocating his equipment to Long Beach and the Asbury Park Railway.
**************************************************************BABE RUTH BASEBALL FIELDBabe Ruth Baseball field occupied an area whick later became the main car park. The field would become the home to the Atlanta Braves, the Ventura Yankees and the Ventura Oilers, all professional baseball teams.

1910 - VENTURA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. Motorcycle Racing.
The first reports of motor racing at the Fairgrounds appear in 1910 with Motorcycle Racing events on the 1/2 mile Dirt Track around the Main Arena. These event's continued through until 1923.
1924 - VENTURA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.
Motor Racing did return in 1924, with a race meeting held on the 28th of July 1924, but it is unsure of what type of racing it was, ie Bike's or Car's. This was on the existing 1/2 mile oval dirt track, racing did continue through until 1927.

1934 - SEASIDE PARK SPEEDWAY. 11th November 1934.
On the 11th of November 1934 a Midget car meeting was held on a 1/5 mile dirt oval that was built on the Fairgrounds. It is not known if anymore meeting were held.

1969 - SEASIDE PARK SPEEDWAY.
Sometime in1969 a 1/10 mile Dirt Oval Track was built at the Fairgrounds to hold Motorcycle racing event's, it seems that the Fairgrounds Board was continually changing to meet every ones needs. The next reported racing on the 1/10 mile track was in 1978.
